Taking a monumental step toward strengthening India’s emergency response infrastructure, Zenzo, the country’s foremost private emergency response service provider, announced the launch of India’s largest ambulance network, spanning 25,000+ ambulances across 450 cities and towns. The landmark announcement was made at the ‘Make India Emergency Ready’ summit held at NSCI, Mumbai.
Zenzo’s expansive fleet includes basic, cardiac, and cutting-edge 5G-enabled ambulances, offering real-time patient monitoring capabilities. This allows paramedics to instantly relay critical patient data to hospitals, improving the quality of pre-hospital care and potentially saving countless lives.
Aiming for Under 15-Minute Emergency Response Times
Zenzo’s mission to “Make India Emergency Ready” is driven by the goal of reducing emergency response time to less than 15 minutes, a move that could cut existing response delays by 30% in urban areas and 40% in rural regions.
“Zenzo is committed to building India’s most reliable and technologically advanced emergency response network. Our aim is to ensure that help reaches people when they need it the most — swiftly and efficiently,” said Sweta Mangal, Co-Founder & CEO of Zenzo.
She further emphasized, “The pandemic was a wake-up call for the country, highlighting the critical need for rapid medical interventions. With Zenzo, we are leveraging India’s digital backbone to deliver world-class emergency services and foster greater public awareness around life-saving care.”
Collaborations to Build a First-Responder Ecosystem
Zenzo has joined forces with key players such as Zomato, Big Basket, and other major e-commerce and mobility platforms, to provide first aid and CPR training to delivery personnel, equipping them as first responders in critical situations. These partnerships aim to create a broader network of individuals trained to offer immediate assistance during emergencies.
Key Innovations and Public Benefits
- 5G-Enabled Ambulances: Enabling real-time transmission of patient vitals for quicker medical interventions.
- One Nation, One Price: Introduction of standardized ambulance pricing nationwide, ensuring transparent, affordable access to emergency services.
- Toll-Free Nationwide Helpline: Citizens can now access ambulances across India via a single helpline number — 1800 102 1298.
Addressing India’s Emergency Care Gaps
Zenzo’s initiative comes in response to India’s urgent need for improved emergency services. Statistics highlight the gravity of the problem:
- In 2024 alone, Mumbai and surrounding areas reported 4,935 road accidents leading to 1,108 fatalities.
- Ambulance delays, averaging 134.5 minutes, have been a critical factor in fatal outcomes.
- Nationally, over 1.5 lakh deaths occur annually due to road accidents, with 30% attributed to delayed medical response.
Zenzo’s ‘Make India Emergency Ready’ initiative seeks to bridge these life-threatening gaps by offering rapid, well-equipped medical responses and trained first responders nationwide.
Building a Comprehensive Healthcare Network
Beyond emergency response, Zenzo is deeply integrated with India’s healthcare ecosystem:
- Partnerships with hospitals, local authorities, corporates, and private ambulance fleets ensure coordinated and resource-ready emergency care.
- Zenzo also leads corporate healthcare services, including Medical Room Management, Mobile Medical Units (MMUs), health helplines, preventive screenings, and First Aid & CPR training for corporate teams.
