GK Energy Limited has received a Letter of Empanelment (LoE) from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited for the supply of 10,000 Off-Grid DC Solar Photovoltaic Water Pumping Systems (SPWPS) under the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana, according to the company’s stock exchange filing.
The empanelment covers 3 HP, 5 HP and 7.5 HP solar water pumping systems to be deployed across Maharashtra. The total value of the empanelment is Rs 235.92 crore, inclusive of GST. According to the filing, the project is to be completed within 60 days from the date of issuance of the formal Work Order or Notice to Proceed (NTP).
Scope of the Project
As outlined in the exchange filing, the contract includes the complete execution of the solar pumping systems, covering:
- Design
- Manufacturing
- Supply
- Transportation
- Installation
- Testing
- Commissioning
The systems will be installed as part of Maharashtra’s Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana, which aims to promote solar-powered irrigation for farmers through off-grid pumping solutions.
What the LoE Means
A Letter of Empanelment (LoE) is issued by the awarding authority to confirm that a company has been selected for a project or programme. It is generally followed by the issuance of a formal Work Order or Notice to Proceed, after which project execution begins.
Order Details
The company clarified that the empanelment has been awarded by a domestic entity and represents a one-time order. GK Energy also stated that its promoters, promoter group and group companies have no interest in the awarding authority. The company further confirmed that the contract does not qualify as a related-party transaction.
The order strengthens GK Energy’s presence in the solar infrastructure segment and supports the continued rollout of solar-powered irrigation systems across Maharashtra under the state’s agricultural electrification programme.
