HFCL Limited has launched OptiQ AI, a unified brand for its optical connectivity business, as the company sharpens its focus on the growing demand for high-speed networking solutions used in artificial intelligence, cloud computing and hyperscale data centres.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, HFCL said the new brand brings together its existing portfolio of optical fibre cables and connectivity products under a single identity designed for next-generation data centre infrastructure. “HFCL assigns a unified identity, OptiQ AI, to its existing optical connectivity portfolio serving AI, cloud and hyperscale data centre customers,” the company said.
Designed for AI Workloads
According to HFCL, OptiQ AI has been developed to meet the networking requirements of increasingly large AI clusters, including systems scaling towards 100,000 GPUs.
The portfolio is built around five core pillars:
- High Quality
- Quantum Bandwidth
- Densely Quantified
- Quick Rollout
- Q-Class Uptime
The company said the platform is designed to support the high-bandwidth, high-density and rapid deployment requirements of modern AI-driven data centres.
Comprehensive Optical Connectivity Portfolio
Under the OptiQ AI brand, HFCL has consolidated a wide range of optical networking products, including:
- Intermittently Bonded Ribbon (IBR) optical fibre cables
- Fibre cable assemblies
- Patch cords
- Pigtails
- Trunk cables
- High-density cassettes
- Enclosure panels
The company said integrating these products under a single framework will simplify deployment for large-scale data centre operators.
Focus on Hyperscale Infrastructure
HFCL said the offering is intended to help hyperscale cloud providers accelerate network deployment while reducing interoperability challenges.
According to the company, the integrated portfolio will support faster rollout of data centre infrastructure and enable seamless migration to 800G and 1.6T optical networks.
AI Driving Demand for Optical Networks
HFCL Managing Director Mahendra Nahata said optical connectivity has become a critical component of AI infrastructure.
“Optical connectivity has moved from being a supporting layer of data centre infrastructure to becoming one of the defining foundations of the AI era. As AI clusters scale and bandwidth requirements rise sharply, customers need reliable, high-density and deployment-ready optical connectivity solutions,” he said.
Nahata also highlighted the growth potential of the sector, citing industry estimates that project the global AI optical connectivity market to expand from USD 14 billion today to USD 73 billion by 2030, driven by investments in AI data centres, high-performance computing and hyperscale cloud infrastructure. He added that the concentration of global supply chains in a limited number of countries presents an opportunity for India.
According to Nahata, HFCL believes India can play a larger role in the global optical connectivity market by offering competitively manufactured, high-quality products backed by a resilient and agile supply chain.
