What is the current status of hospitality sector on demand and supply front?
The hospitality industry generated four to six per cent higher revenue per available room (RevPAR) in Q12023-2024, compared to March 2022. According to the most recent industry data, while room demand increased by more than 60% year on year between January-July 2023, room supply increased by only 1-2%. While demand will continue to grow by double digits due to the strong domestic travel segment, we anticipate supply to grow at a CAGR of only 3-4% over the next six to seven years. Additionally, because of the growth of domestic leisure travel, the upcoming supply will be spread out across several locations rather than concentrated in a select few key markets, preventing a performance slowdown. After the operations of MOPA airport the air connectivity has been smooth. We are expecting a good business ahead.

How has been your own personal journey so far?
I am associated with Justa Hotels as General Manager from last 18 months looking after two small boutique resorts at Morjim & Assgaon in North Goa. I started my career at Fortune Hotels and later completed my industrial exposure at Hotel Adityaz in Gwalior. Then moved to Lords Group of Hotels Silvassa as front office executive and after a year with Country Inn & Suites by Carlson, Goa as Duty Manager. Again I was back to Gwalior with a luxury boutique resorts The Prabha International where I spent around 18 months. They shifted me with the responsibility to another opening at Indore where I had the experience to start a Unit from scratch. I also worked with Royal Orchid Group of Hotels as Operation Manager with Regenta Resorts Dandeli Karnataka. But Goa has always attracted me so after spending over two years I moved to Goa with La Cabana Beach & Spa Resort as Operation Manager. It was a very satisfying journey for around 3.5 years with a huge FNB scope, more of MICE & destination wedding. Around 200+ successful weddings & many Commercial events were conducted during my tenure.

What is your philosophy of life?
It had been a roller coaster ride so far but filled with lots of good memories and learnings. With the wisdom I gained from my long association with the industry and so many wonderful people I have been successful in setting up a great team. Still there are miles to be traversed and I am quite happy with my dedication, eagerness to learn and the support I get from my team I would be able to do all I want to do.
